In the Hayday
Well, things are going great right now! I just got a membership at Oakridge Gym and it is sweat! I work out everyday at least an hour. the place is huge with a 7200 square ft. gym, racket ball courts, tennis courts, and pool. Somehow working out is so much funner at a gym. I don't know why that is, do you? So tomorrow, Tuesday, and Thursday I get out of school at 12:30 for state testing! This is good so I can get to the gym with nobody there except for the old guys who are retired and have no jobs!!!! This is great! I have the whole gym to myself. To make everything even better, I got my report card that was straight A's (again)!!!!! And to finish it off, only 1 month and 13 days of school left and Mrs. Robinson (unfortunately my science teacher). So I just want to say life is good.

My New Favorite Sport Awakened
Lately I have been trying to find a new favorite sport. Baseball I have kind of grown out of and I believe I've got it! The new sport is... drum roll please. Basketball!!!!!!! Now, I play it everyday and have gotten pretty good! (if I don't say so myself). My friend Erik has been a good supporter of me and has practiced with me everyday. Today, we went to the Park and Rec Center to play some bball. Well we got there thinking we would just shoot some hoops when 3 kids asked if we would like to play them. So I decided Erik and I could take on the 3 of them. We played the first game winning 21 to 10. I don't know if I got lucky draining 3's or I just aren't that bad! And my friend Erik (really short probably barely 5 foot even) drove it in for some lay-ups! Then next game we lost 19 to 21.
And finally, the last game we beat them 17 to 21. After our 2nd win they decided they had to go. I was pretty happy with myself for it. I don't know, maybe they just weren't good or I am just getting better! Now I'm going to go back a few hours to tell you something I forgot to mention before our victory. Again, with my friend Erik we went to the Adidas store. There, I got some awesome basketball shoes for only $20 when originally $60. And after, I discovered a Lakers shirt for $5 which I immediately snatched up. So I left the store happy with some basketball shoes, a Lakers shirt and $25 left, Which my Dad suggested should go to the bank, so it did :(. And now, I have to finish a medieval shield for a history project (the coolest project that could ever be assigned!!!! (Except for a sword which couldn't be brought to school. If only we could learn more about swords and battle axes in history!!!!). Stay tuned and maybe next blog entry there will be a picture of my awesome shield.

Just My Luck
Its been a while since I've written a post. And I have a perfectly good reason for that! No wait, I don't. To tell you the truth, I just haven't had anything interesting to write about. Maybe my music will inspire me as I write (Viva La Vida by Coldplay to be exact). Well Saturday I had a basketball game. I don't know if I told you but our team won our church ball championship and moved onto Thousand Oaks. So I turned up for my game pumped up and ready to play. Turns out it was a forfeit! The team had just found out that day they were playing and weren't able to get enough players to play. That wasn't going to stop us from playing when we came clear to Thousand Oaks! (which is like a 30 minute drive). So a couple people who were there to watch played including some of our players.
I started out on the bench until a couple of minutes when I was put in. I got multiple chances to make a shot but missed every time! Finally, I got the ball and fast breaked down the court making the lay-up!!!! The only problem with this was the game didn't count! This seems to happen to me every time I make a basket!!! This really fries me! After my game I ate dinner got a hair cut and finished my book the Boy Who Dared. This was a really good book and I totally suggest it. After all this, my best friend and next door neighbor Erik invited me to watch Kung Fu Panda. The first quarter was very good until I fell asleep of exhaustion from a long day.

Yessss!!!!!
Yesssss!!!!!(as Napoleon Dynamite would say). Yesterday we had a basketball game for church. I went for the game ready to play. I felt good about today as I warmed up. To tell you the truth I was draining three's (not that I would try to make one in the actual game!). We started the game (me on the bench) and they were off. The game wasn't going good for us, we were down by at least 5 points. Finally I was put in. Although, I did nothing for the team. All I did was run up and down the court. The half-time buzzer blew and I was out.
With 3 minutes to go, all the older boy's were taken out and all 12-14 year old's were on the court. This was a surprise because all of these players were about 5 foot to 5 foot 3 inches. With the exception of me who is 5 foot 9. We went up and down the court not doing so well when the ball was passed to me. I faked the shot and dribbled around for the shot. Suspense, would it go in? Yes!!!!!!! It was a swish!!!!!!!!! The crowd went wild (not really). The team did tho; this was my first basket of the season. This is an accomplishment me because I am really not good at basketball. Although, I do enjoy playing.
Even though I had a triumph, it wasn't a triumph for the whole team. In the end we lost. However, the game didn't matter at all. It turned out, the other team was a forfeit. Apparently the other team had a player who played for Royal High School. The rules clearly state that no players for church ball can play on a school team. Next week we have the championship.
The rest of my day was pretty dull. Except, my sister Miriam took me for a slurpee (which was very generous of her). After my treat, I did HW and washed cars. Washing cars wasn't to bad considering I got payed. Once I finished all that the rest of the day wasn't bad. Miriam and I watched School of Rock and had Panda Express. And to kick it off, we watched the Karate Kid. I have to say this weekend was pretty sweet!

Video Game Night
Well the night finally came. The Video Game Night the night I had been waiting for for month! Just my luck that week everyone in my family was sick with the flew. It all happened when my brother David brought the plague to our home. Everyday I ran away from the sicky's trying to stay uncontaminated so I could go to the party Friday. Everyday I was successful and then came Friday. I was feeling a little bit sick but wasn't just about to not go to the video game night just for that!
I got to the party where I kicked it off going on the trampoline. After my jumping, I had some of our leaders famous venison that he hunts and cooks himself. Once we had our manly dinner, the boys had a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament where I came to the finals which I lost in a heartbeat. Next came the Halo where first we just started warming up (it was my first time ever playing the game). I did miserably at first and last to tell you the truth. Now came the real competition. I started off the bracket facing Christian Hunt one of my friends and a video game attic. You know, to tell you the truth at that party I discovered a lot of video game attics. Now that I think of it almost all the boys in my ward for church are video game attics! Back to what I was saying, I grabbed the controller and was prowling around searching for christian and then all of a sudden fire was upon me! I turned around just in enough time to see Christian finish me off. This process repeated several times. I guess I'm just video game challenged!
After my terrible defeat at Halo I received a consolation of a cup of ice cream. I would rather have ice cream than video games! Maybe one day I will win a game of Halo! Not! I don't think it will ever happen as long as I'm versing anybody in my ward! Although, I have to say I am pretty good at Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Can't wait till the next video game night! Thank you for reading.

Happy V-Day!!!!!!!!
It's Valentine's Day and it has been a good one! It started being great last night. First, Miriam (My sister) and I went and "heart attacked" my grandpa's house. A "heart attack" is when you cut up a bunch of paper hearts and stick them on someones house. So Miriam and I went at 10:30 and put them all over his door. Some of them said fax me!, or your secret admirer. Those are the only ones I can remember. Although, my Grandpa can tell you everyone of them because I know positively that he read every single one of them. After the "heart attack", I watched Gladiator (the edited version) with my brother Walt. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today, I woke up at 6:30 fed my friends dog while they are away and then we went to breakfast. We went to Eggs and Things (which was delicious!!!!!). I had Cinnamon Roll French Toast. After my yummy breakfast we went over to my Grandpa's house to see if he saw the "heart attack". And he did and loved it! After a nice visit with him we went home. At home I went to the Dollar Store and bought a powerade for my game. After my trip to the store I went to my basketball.
I was warming up at my game thinking I wonder if I'm going to score a basket? It was my time to fulfill my destiny and make a basket!!!!!!!! The game buzzer went off. I took my usual place on the bench at the start of the game (sometimes I start but mostly I play in the middle of the game.) I watched them rebound shoot and run. Finally I was sent in. Although I didn't score a basket I came so close (just like I do every game). Also, I did a lot of good defencing and rebounding. After I got out of the game I watched as it got even more intense. As it drew near the end of the game the tensions were high. Tied 27 to 27, the other team made a couple three's and was in the lead. We needed to get some points.
To get the ball fast we needed to foul someone bad so they would shoot and miss therefore we would get the ball and score. So, this little kid on the court was running when a kid on our team grabbed him to foul him. He went the free throw line and shot. He made it!!!!!! Our plan back fired. With a couple seconds left, we were on fire. We tied it up and went into OT (over time). In over time the same thing happened. The other team kept on making there shots. With 2 seconds left on the clock we got the ball. Even if we did make the 3 we would lose by a couple points. The buzzer buzzed and we didn't make the 3. Our undefeated streak was gone. Oh well, we can't win them all right? To cheer me up, I got my report card where I got straight A's!!!!!! I have had straight A's ever for 2 years straight except for one measly B in sign language. In my defence, MR. Katz (the teacher) didn't give any A's out at all! I didn't meet one person that got an A in his class. Overall it was a good day and I have to finish watching the slam dunk contest.

Congrats Miriam!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to dedicate this post to my sister Miriam. She has been studying night and day everyday for over a month to study for her nursing test. Every day I came home from school she was in her room laboring away. This Monday, she took the test. This test was very complex. If you get a question right, it gets harder. The test turns off once it knows you have passed the test or failed. 75 was the lowest it could turn off (which meant you either did really well or horribly). 200 something was the limit it would keep on going. When she got home from the test, she said that it stopped at 75. So we figured that she did excellent or terrible. The results take a while to come up. Miriam left the test nerve racking.
Well today she got her results. Unfortunately she didn't pass. Miriam said she will study even harder this time. Not!!!!!!!!! She actually did pass (I think with flying colors). I wish Miriam the best of luck. I know that she will easily find a job and that every person she interviews with will know she's the one for the job! Once again, good luck Miriam!
